How to add handwriting input to Gmail on the web [Tutorial]

Handwriting input is useful for us in many ways. Like when we are trying to input a character which is not represented on the keyboard or if you have some disabilities. In the past we could only use this function outside of the web interface or with the help of a plugin for your browser. Now, it is possible to set up handwriting input on Gmail Web version.
It's an easy task to set up, just follow the instructions given below.

  1. Login to Gmail, and click on Settings
  2. The first option you'll see is the Language section. Click on "Show all language options"
  3. Click the "Enable input tools" option (Click to put a tick mark)
  4. When the "Input Tools" windows opens, click on the languages you want and click the arrow which points to "RIGHT"
  5. Now Click OK Button
  6. IMPORTANT: Click the save button at the end of the Settings Page before proceeding further
  7. Gmail will reload now.
  8. Now Click on the pencil button on the RIGHT-TOP corner near the settings button. If it is a keyboard symbol being shown there, click on the arrow next to it and click on Pencil symbol.
NOTE: In the input tools option seen in step 4, the one with pencil symbols are the handwriting input and the other (with the keyboard symbol) are On screen keyboards.
