We will be providing a Tutorial on "How to set up two step verification for Evernote". Now this feature was first active only for premium users, now Evernote has brought it to free users too, and users are much pleased with it.
With this option turned on, you will have to enter a verification code along with your password which will be sent to your mobile number. Now if you are one of those guys who share private notes on Evernote, don't worry, if someone cracks your Evernote password.
- To enable the two step verification for Evernote, head to Evernote's Security panel. For that Click on Tools and click Account info. This will be how the panel looks
- Now, there appears a pop like this
- Click on Continue, now click on the green highlighted button to proceed further.
- Now you will see a page like this
- Check your Email for the confirmation code or click on the link provided in the email you receive.
- Now you will see a page which shows to enter your mobile number. Go ahead and enter your number
- Now, you'll hear your phone's notification tone. Yup, that's the confirmation code.
- Now enter your verification code in the box appearing on your PC.
- Now it shows enter a secondary mobile number, so enter another number and just like step 7 and 8, type the verification code
- Now there appears a pop up notification like this
- I use an iPhone (Google Authenticator Installed). I scanned a bar code from Evernote using this application
- Lastly, Evernote will provide you four single-use backup codes, which you can use to access your account when you don't have your phone near you.
- Done! You've successfully activated Two-step verification for your Evernote account.
